The Race to Remember

There’s an interesting article written on the BBC website about the survivors from World War I.
Of the millions who fought in World War One, just a handful remain. It is now a race against time to record their memories of an event so many nations vowed never to forget.World War One is soon to cease to be an event in living memory. Of the millions of men who fought for Britain, just 10 survive. Their average age is 106, and this year is seen as the last chance to make a record of what happened to them almost a century ago.

If there is anyone I consider to be my hero then it is these men that fought in both World Wars so that people like us can live in freedom.

God bless those who have served, living or passed so that we may live free. I would gladly give my life in the name of freedom and it is my sincere belief the men and women who paid the ultimate price for freedom died with the most honor one can die for, protection of their families. God or the Gods, whichever you believe holds a special place in heaven for them and so long as they are not forgotten they shall never truly die.
