Mortgage Advice for Business Owners
After almost 6 months of looking for a house we’re slowly but surely getting somewhere. At first we were finding it difficult to get any sort of sizeable mortgage because the business had been going for just less than 2 years and obviously the income on paper isn’t going to be exponential.
However after a bit of scouting we came across Ulster Bank which is a member of the Royal Bank of Scotland group. We discovered that this bank will give you a mortgage based on a certified copy of a cashflow projection. The accounts must be verified by a chartered accountant however but this flexibility can be invaluable to those who have just started a business and need to get a mortgage before the house prices explode any further.
Failing this co-ownership is another means to get your foot on the ladder but it turns out much more expensive in the long run and I would advise anyone to get an outright mortgage if at all possible.
Web Design Articles - Site Auction
Jason more commonly known as yfs1 was kind enough to hand over www.web-design-articles.com to me so I could sell it to pay a few bills. As a freelance web designer there are a few times in the year where you have plenty of jobs on but no income for a few months.
You can see the full details of the auction at http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=85174
I have personally found that it can be very rewarding to buy an older site as opposed to having a new 1 built.
- The site has backlinks already in place
- Most of the pages will already be indexed
- There may already be repeat customers who have browsed the site previously
- Cut out development time
I think you’ll agree this site has a great domain name as well!
New website for weirfire - comments welcome
It’s version number 6 for the Weirfire website and I hope this one will satisfy our needs for a few years yet. We’ve gone down the content is king route and got as many keywords as we can fit on the site while still trying to satisfy the visitors needs in letting them get what they want without a lot of hassle.
I would like your comments on all aspects of website design from marketability of our products, SEO, asthetics, layout and usability plus anything else you can think of.
We will also be adding a free tools and a not so free tools section in the near future.
The site is at www.weirfire.co.uk by the way
